Rent a Stand up paddle board (sup) on S. Padre Island, Texas

No wind? Check out the stand up paddle surfboards that Air Padre Kiteboarding has to offer. For $40 per half-day or $75 per day you can cruise the Laguna Madre Bay from right behind the shop. No need to have to carry these monster surfboards very far, since the shop is located a stone's throw from the boat channels that lead into the bay. We can also secure them to your car if you are looking to hit up the swell in the ocean. Be warned this is far the more advanced paddlers.

Where to SUP?

The best place to stand up paddle board is right behind the shop. A short carry to the water's edge is as much work as you will do all day. We can give you a few pointers on body position, balance and other helpful skills before you shove off. The Laguna Madre Bay is a great place to see by SUP. The waters are calm, shallow and warm to ensure confidence. Balancing on the SUPs can be done with the most ease on calm waters, which makes the bay ideal. If you are looking for a little more adventure, then small waves in the Gulf of Mexico can be a fun time. Although, this is far more challenging to balance on the paddle board with the added variable of an onslaught of oncoming waves is present. Be sure to steer clear of swimmers, because if these large boards get loose from you, they can turn into huge obstacles being thrown back to shore by the waves.
