To rent a small inflatable kite requires instructor approval or IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) level 2G. In order to rent a large kitesurfing kite requires a card to confirm that you are of IKO Level of 3N. Check where you stand... IKO Levels.

If you happen to get to South Padre and you need either a smaller kite because the wind is just too strong, or you forgot your lightwind beast, then stop into the shop. We have a full range of kitesurfing demo kites to try out.

Rent a Trainer Kite to practice your kite control before a lesson, or just have some fun at the beach for only $20/day. Trainer kites are a great tool for learning how to properly control a kite. They fly similar to the large inflatable kites, so the better you fly a trainer kite, then the better you will be at controlling the inflatable. The real advantage of the trainer kites are they are generally only 2 or 3 meters of canopy size, which is much smaller than the larger water kites. So, they will teach you how to steer and maneuver a kite without the unnecessary pull and power that the kite boarding kites have. Rent a land board as well for a little extra and you will be kiteboarding!

Air Padre watersports rentals shop is located at 5709A Padre Blvd. Situated on the main Padre Blvd. 3.1 miles north of the bridge, 1/2 block north of Morningside light - on the west side of the street.
