The sand flats on South Padre Island are an excellent place to kite buggy. Kite Buggies utilize less wind than kitesurfing, because there is less friction involved. If the wind is light while you are visiting, consider renting one of these kite powered dune buggies for $35 per day. Race around the sand flats or beach side all day using just the wind. You steer the three-wheeled buggy with your feet while seated, and fly the kite with your two free hands. Move the kite in the direction that you want to go and hang on!
