Leaning Tower is Demolished

The Ocean Tower at South Padre comes down December 13th, 2009

Ocean Tower at South Padre Island demolished

9:00am on December 13th, 2009 the Ocean Tower at South Padre Island is taken down. After a year of sitting on the island unfinished because the tower began to lean, has been imploded. The Controlled Demolition Incorporated took the building down with precise for the thousands of spectators. The 31 story building took only seconds to fall down neatly in place. The event was spectacular and seemed to go as planned.

Air Padre Kite boarding teamed up and took photos and video of the massive demolition from the boats. The north end of the island was packed with people watching it go down. See it implode! Check out the videos and photos!
