We are getting ready for the 2010 SPI Kite Round-Up. Much preparation is being made to get set for the 9 day long event scheduled for May 1st-9th, 2010 on our windy island of South Padre. The registration page is now open and you can fully register as a participant on the web site. Go to the event registration to pre-register for the 2010 SPI Kite Round-Up and save money. Becoming a paid participant will give you full access to the amateur kiteboarding contests, industry wide gear demos, kite clinics, Texas Hold'em Poker night and more!
The main purpose of the SPI Kite Round-Up is to give kiteboarders a good chance to demo kiteboarding gear from the industry's leading manufacturers. The event enables all the Round-Up participants to try out this year's 2010 kitesurfing equipment before they buy. Many kiteboarding contests have also been created to bring out the competitive spirit of amateur kite boarders. Participants may choose to compete in several contests such as: Big Air, Sliders, Freestyle, Downwind Races, Speed Trials, Boarder-X, SUP Races and others. Additionally, there will be kite clinics for both participants as well as their family members. Trainer kites, gear orientation, and stand up paddle board clinics are a great way to get started in the sport of kiteboarding. More advanced clinics, such as transitioning and jumping, will be held to keep you progressing in the sport. The Texas Hold'em Poker night is always a fan favorite at the SPI Kite Round-Up. Compete for prizes and the bragging rights!
The 2009 SPI Kite Round-Up went off last year without a hitch. 200 plus participants enjoyed ten days of sunshine and consistent wind that South Padre Island is known for in May. We look forward to seeing even more smiling faces here on the island for this year's event.
